Hawaii is such a different, fun kind of vibe. It’s a place where the air smells of plumeria and salt, where the gentle waves of the Pacific kiss the shore, and where the rich history is woven into every sunset. It’s also where the iconic Mai Tai cocktail originated, and so much moreโ€”it is the ultimate luxury getaway. Here are 10 of the best luxury hotels in Hawaii, starting with the famed Pink Palace.

1. The Royal Hawaiian, A Luxury Collection Resort, Waikiki (Oahu)

Stepping onto the grounds of The Royal Hawaiian is like walking into a time machine, but a beautiful, blush-colored one. This Spanish-Moorish-style icon, affectionately known as the “Pink Palace of the Pacific,” was the one big, pink destination permanently stuck at the top of my bucket list, and I can now speak on it from my recent personal experience! Choosing a hotel with such cool history, sitting on grounds that were once a private escape for Hawaiian royalty, made the whole trip feel that much more special.

The little touches here are what truly make the experience. The Malulani Pool, for instance, had the most perfect temperatureโ€”it was instantly relaxing and warm enough to just slide right in. After a swim, you are immediately right on one of the most famous beaches in the world, Waikiki.

But the real highlights are the culinary experiences. I ordered the lobster roll at the Mai Tai Bar and it had the best, most naturally sweet lobster Iโ€™ve ever tasted, seriously! Of course, I paired it with their signature Pink Palace drink, a favorite cocktail served with a beautiful pink umbrella. And for breakfast? The Surf Lanai’s fluffy, sweet pink pancakes, served with local Portuguese sausage, are truly the best pink pancakes in the world. You even get a free bakery card for a delicious banana bread upon check-in! Read our full hotel review here.
